Also wanted to mention that I now have an official art website! It is not 100% complete yet, but there is enough up that it is worth checking out. Suggestions are always welcome!
www.blakeelizabethroberts.com

This blog will still exist and continue as a venue for process and thoughts and ramblings, while the website will hopefully serve as a more permanent archive of my work.
(If you are interested in another site that I designed from scratch, this is what I did for the lab at Penn, where I work during the day: www.med.upenn.edu/shorterlab)

I can post as Stainless now, thanks to Open ID . . .

Your website looks great! You should put your senior artist statement in the writing section. I love the tiny thumbnails of paintings. It's like looking at a mini Blake Roberts Museum from a distance.

I like the use of paint swatches in your work (I'm reaching back to March here). Some other good names I've picked up doing set design from paint swatches: Fiery Sword (orangey-red) and It's Trivial! (deep, dark blue). You know, Albers said that the perfect material for color experiments is printed color paper, much like these swatches. He also said art was the discrepancy between the physical fact and the psychic effect, and I always thought your work was especially good at bridging that gap. "Hush Pink" is probably my favorite, but I'm impressed by how much open space there is in "Forest Rain Green" (I wonder how this color differs from "Rain Forest Green"). Your shapes kind of swim in this expanse of white on cardboard. I'll definitely have to see the piece in person to figure out where the toilet paper part comes in.

Congratulations on the small paintings show! Sounds great, I wish I could have made it out there to see it.

Yours,
B'ck't
